Meditation Teacher

Sergio León Candia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and is a trained Physical Education teacher. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in Buddhist Studies from the International Buddhist College in Thailand. His first encounter with Eastern philosophy came during his teenage years while practicing martial arts.

In 2008, he set out to travel the world for five years, gaining experience in various fields and deepening his understanding of life. During his stay in Thailand, he participated in several Buddhist meditation retreats. Seeking to combine the study of Dharma with healthy living and sustainable human settlements, he returned to Chile in 2013 and co-founded an ecological agriculture and sustainable living project.

In 2015, he earned a Permaculture Design Diploma from the Permaculture Institute of Australia. In 2017, he returned to Thailand to complete his Master’s degree at the International Buddhist College and presented papers in Thailand and Malaysia on the connection between Dharma and ecology.

This work was published by the Buddhist magazine Eastern Horizon (Malaysia), to which he still contributes. Today, he continues to research early Buddhist texts and guides others in the practice of Anapanasati meditation.
